Varadero, Cuba

My wife and I have just returned from a laid-back week spent at Varadero, Cuba where the weather was sunny, breezy and warm. (Just the tonic I needed from our bone-chilling winter.) From the point at the right of my sketch, the beach stretched all the way into town, a walk of about 45 minutes - wonderful for beach-combing! The building in my sketch is called Xanadu and was built by American millionaire Irénée du Pont Nemours in the 1930s. It's now a restaurant associated with a golf course next to where I stayed.
