Le pont de pierre (The stone bridge)

Le Pont de pierre is a woodland park in Ste-Thérèse-de-la-Gatineau in the Upper Gatineau Valley. I visited it a few years ago and was impressed by its natural beauty. Part of it is strewn with large bolders that seem to have been thrown there by giant trolls. Here and there, you can find caves and streams flowing underground. This is why they call it 'Le Pont de pierre' (The stone bridge). The park also borders on the northern shore of Lac 31 Milles where you can find a large rock that has been sculpted into a basin by a small waterfall. Three people can comfortably sit inside it and enjoy an ice cold stream of water flowing through (enjoy it in summer, of course). Although I enjoyed my visit, I was a little uncomfortable with the absolute silence of the forest and its unusual landscape. Still, I'll probably return sometime in the future.
